PROGRAM: APARTMENT IN MIXED-USE LOFT BUILDING

Designed as a pied-a-terre in Williamsburg Brooklyn for a family of four, the main requirements were a big kitchen for entertaining, two-bedrooms, and wall space for our client’s art collection. We worked with our client’s chosen tiles, plumbing fixtures, and furniture, and focused our efforts on bringing light into the apartment through the use of skylights and large windows. We also wanted to showcase the beautiful existing heavy timber structure and wood floors from when the building was used as a factory, so we removed any existing paint that covered these elements and left the wood exposed throughout the apartment.
