This project is the culmination of three renovations that began with the conversion of a small cellular two-bedroom apartment to a larger loft-like home, followed by a modification to add a dining room, and finally with an expansion into an adjacent 1-bedroom apartment. Our client who lives alone wanted to be able to throw large parties and also have the ability to provide guest rooms to family members wanting to stay for the night. We designed an apartment with many moveable walls that could quickly operate to transform our client’s home from a big party space to smaller sleeping nooks.
